A DEA-based decision analytics framework for product deletion in the luxury goods and fashion industry

Traditionally, product deletion is a reactive decision driven by low sales volume and profit margin. However, the complexities involved in management consumer behavior volatilities make it necessary to account for broad range of financial non-financial factors. Besides, proactive may be required company reduce risk draining resources, adjust market changes, stay competitive. This study develops an analytics-based framework that considers multidimensional measurements, from finance supply chain competitive considerations. For this purpose, innovative application Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) explored within novel framework. Input luxury goods used evaluate applicability tool. In case study, developed identified 41 out 74 products consideration which, two received higher priority possible deletion. The results provide insights into deeper analysis decisions showing short-term perspectives should not stall managers. also provides recommendations further research on modeling implementation practice. method can validated tested other industries contribute understudied topic.
